In 2019, a group of young environmentalists from Bangalore, India, launched an initiative called Green Gold. Their mission: to transform the city’s organic waste into productive compost. The team, led by 25-year-old Nitin Vasanth, collected waste from local markets and households, converting it into nutrient-rich compost within weeks.
💡 Impact
Since its inception, Green Gold has successfully recycled over 50 tons of organic waste that would otherwise have ended up in landfills. The produced compost is now being used by local farmers and gardeners, improving soil health and decreasing reliance on chemical fertilizers.
