Meet Ajay Kumar, a 45-year-old railway porter from a small village in Bihar, India. Despite humble beginnings, Ajay had a dream: to provide quality education to every child in his village. He started with a small class of 8 children in 1995, under a tree, teaching them with resources he obtained from his limited income.

Ajay’s dedication paid off. Fast forward to 2021, his small initiative has transformed into the ‘Nai Kiran’ (New Ray of Light) school, with more than 300 students, 12 teachers, and a dedicated building. He has helped many underprivileged children to complete their school education and some have even gone on to graduate from college.
