The results were transformational. By 2020, Indore had achieved 100% door-to-door garbage collection. It recycled nearly 1100 tonnes of waste per day, with biodegradable waste being converted into compost. The city was awarded the title of ‘India’s Cleanest City’ for the fourth time consecutively in the annual cleanliness survey conducted by the Government of India.
