In the lush, green valleys of Arunachal Pradesh, two bear cubs were found alone, in distress and clearly separated from their mother. A local farmer named Taba Tata, found them on the edge of his field in April 2021. Instead of turning a blind eye, Taba took the initiative to rescue the cubs and contacted local authorities.

The forest department promptly arrived at Taba’s farm and took the bear cubs under their care. They were taken to the Itanagar Zoo where they received immediate medical attention. The cubs were found to be healthy, and over the following weeks were slowly reintroduced into a safe, natural habitat within the zoo.
